The 19th Meeting of the conference of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)– CoP19 was held in Panama between November 14- 25, 2022.
CITES is a key component that NAZAP always involved and contribute to stop the illegal activities such as trading, poaching and habitat destruction which has caused several wild animals to be endangered. This year focus on the role of indigenous peoples and rural communities in conservation.
We at NAZAP strongly encourage community participation in conservation such that the local contribute in making policy that will support wildlife conservation. With this they will have the feeling that they are carried along. This will go a long way reducing the rate of species loss and habitat destruction.
